Dream RichEditor includes an edit control that handles formatted text and can be used both in tiny applications that use simple editing, and in complex systems that deal with formatted texts.

It comprises all the advantages, features, and the power of a fully functional rich text editor.

Dream RichEditor has all the functionality of standard Rich editor additionally offering a number of advanced features that are not present in the common controls. Dream RichEditor automatically manages:

  • Text formatting. You can apply different fonts, styles and colors to the text, specify paragraph alignments, numbering, and bullets.
  • Paragraph formatting. You can specify paragraph align and indentations.
  • Bullets and numbering. Bullets and auto-numbered paragraphs are supported.
  • Embedded images such as bitmaps, icons, and metafiles can be easily inserted into the document.
  • Pagination. If the text is too large to fit a single page, it can be automatically spit into several pages.
  • Importing and exporting to most common file formats like rtf and html.
  • Cut/Copy/Paste operations, drag and drop. All standard editing operations are supported; formatting is preserved during these manipulations.
  • Search and replace are performed automatically. Various search options (search range, case sensitivity, and search direction) can be applied.
  • Unlimited undo/redo operations enable you to roll back changes when needed.
  • Addict spell checker with live spell feature supported
  • Printing and print preview. Allows printing document being viewed or edited and displaying each page as it will look when printed.
  • Tables support. Tables can be inserted in the text. Dream RichEditor can handle unlimited number of nested tables.
  • New Protected Text feature - create sections of text that can't be changed by the user.

Moreover, being based on Dream Editor, Dream RichEditor offers all its main features.

 

Dream RichEditor is written entirely with Delphi. You don't need any extra DLLs or OCXs. Source is compatible and tested with Delphi 3, Delphi 4, Delphi 5, Delphi 6, Delphi 7, C++ Builder 3, C++ Builder 4, C++ Builder 5, C++ Builder 6, CLX, Kylix, Kylix2 and Kylix 3.
